about fuqua renders
Hi, I’m Daniel — a 3D and motion graphics artist in Austin, TX.
I came into this field as an autodidact, and that path has shaped the way I work: disciplined, patient, curious, and willing to sit with a problem long enough to truly understand it. When you don’t know what you don’t know, the only way forward is to think critically, experiment, and teach yourself. I believe everyone has this ability — it just takes practice.
Even in everyday life, I have that instinct. When my wife and I are lying in bed trying to remember what show we know an actor from, I always try to figure it out myself before reaching for Google. And honestly, I’m pretty good at that game.
My toolkit reflects the time I’ve invested in learning deeply: I use Cinema 4D for modeling, simulations and animation; Redshift and Octane for lighting, texturing, and rendering; After Effects and Premiere Pro for compositing; and Photoshop and Illustrator for design work, texture creation, and masks. Through mastering these tools, I’ve developed a complete pipeline for creating polished renders and animation for brands, products, and visual storytelling.
Over time — with the help of excellent 3D artists who have become close friends — I’ve built a clean, optimized workflow. That includes consistent file organization, naming conventions, and a repeatable pipeline that makes collaboration easier. I’ve also developed a lighting and look-dev process that stays efficient regardless of render engine, allowing me to produce strong first stills quickly and then iterate into more complex animated shots.
I’m currently seeking junior 3D artist or 3D generalist roles, full-time or contract, where I can contribute high-quality work, keep growing, and continue expanding my toolkit. At the end of the day, my goal is simple:
to be useful in the world in the way I can — by making great 3D.
